👉 Question (1) The king and the minister of the kingdom of fools didn't want to run things like other kings. What did they decide ? मूर्खों के राज्य के राजा और मंत्री दूसरे राजाओं की भांति चीजें चलाना नहीं चाहते थे | उन्होंने क्या फैसला किया ? 

 ✍️ Answer. As the king and the minister of the kingdom of fools didn't want to run things like other kings, they decided to change night into day and day into night. 

 👉 Question (2) What would happen if anyone tried to disobey the order ? क्या होता था यदि कोई आदेश की अवहेलना करने का प्रयास करता था ? 

 ✍️ Answer. If anyone tried to disobey the order of the king, he would be punished with death. 

 👉 Question (3) What did the guru and his disciple see when they arrived the city in broad daylight ? गुरुजी तथा उनके शिष्य ने क्या देखा जब वे दिन के प्रकाश में शहर पहुंचे ? 

 ✍️ Answer. When the guru and his disciple arrived the city in broad daylight, they found no one about. Everyone even the cattle were asleep. 

 👉 Question (4) What did everything in the kingdom of fools cost ? मूर्खों के राज्य में प्रत्येक वस्तु का क्या मूल्य था ? 

 ✍️ Answer. In the kingdom of fools everything cost the same, a single Duddu. Whether it was a measure of rice or a bunch of bananas, it cost a Duddu. 

 👉 Question (5) After cooking and eating, what did the guru realise ? पकाने तथा खाने के बाद गुरुजी ने क्या महसूस किया ? 

 ✍️ Answer. After they had cooked and eaten, the guru realised that it was a kingdom of fools, and that it wouldn't be a good idea for them to stay there. 

 👉 Question (6) The disciple wanted to stay for good and cheap food. What did the guru say to him ? शिष्य अच्छे व सस्ते भोजन के लिए ठहरना चाहता था | गुरुजी ने उससे क्या कहा ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The disciple wanted to stay for good and cheap food. But the guru said to him, they are all fools. This won't last very long, and you can't tell what they'll do you next. 

 👉 Question (7) What was the result of the disciple's staying on ? शिष्य के ठहर जाने का क्या परिणाम हुआ ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The disciple stayed on. He began to eat his fill every day. He at banana, ghee, rice and wheat, and as a result he grew fat like a street-side sacred bull. 

 👉 Question (8) What happened to the thief at the merchant's house ? व्यापारी के मकान पर चोर को क्या हुआ ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The theif had broke into the merchant's house by making a hole in the wall. When he was carrying out his loot, the wall of the house collapsed on his head and he died on the spot. 

 👉 Question (9) How did the merchant escape the punishment ? व्यापारी दंड से कैसे बचा ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The merchant told the king that he hadn't put up the wall. So it was not his fault, but it was the fault of the man who hadn't built it right. Thus he escaped the punishment. 

 👉 Question (10) What was the bricklayer's defence against the accusation of murdering the thief ? राजमिस्त्री का चोर की हत्या के आरोप के विरुद्ध क्या बचाव था ? 

 ✍️ Answer. Against the accusation of murdering the thief, the bricklayer said that the wall could not be built good because his mind hadn't been on it. A dancing girl with her anklets Jingling had been going up and down the street all day and she had distracted his attention. 

 👉 Question (11) Why did, the dancing girl explained, she ( the girl) keep moving up and down the street that distracted the bricklayer ? नर्तकी बाला ने समझाया कि वह गली में इधर-उधर आती -जाती रही, जिससे राजमिस्त्री का ध्यान बंट गया | क्यों ? 

 ✍️ Answer. She said she had given some gold to the goldsmith to make some jewellery for her. But he didn't make it, and made her walk up and down to his house a dozen times. 

 👉 Question ( 12) Why did the king hold the goldsmith responsible for the thief's murder ? राजा ने सुनार को चोर की हत्या के लिए जिम्मेदार क्यों ठहराया ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The king held the goldsmith responsible for the thief's murder because he hadn't made the jewellery for the poor dancing girl which made her walk up and down the street which made the bricklayer build a bad wall and the wall fell onto the thief. 

 👉 Question (13) What did the goldsmith say about the rich merchant in particular, and rich man in general ? सुनार ने विशेष रूप से धनी व्यापारी के संबंध में तथा सामान्यतः धनी लोगों के संबंध में क्या कहा ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The goldsmith said that the rich merchant had a wedding coming, so he had to finish his order. About rich men in general, he said that they were impatient. 

 👉 Question (14) The rich merchant's father was ' the true murderer ', yet the merchant was awarded death punishment. Why ? धनी व्यापारी के पिता ' असली हत्यारे थे ', तो भी व्यापारी को मृत्युदण्ड दिया गया | क्यों ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The rich merchant's father was ' the true murderer ', but he had long before died. Someone was to be punished. According to the king, the merchant inherited all his dead father's riches and sins as well. So he should be awarded death punishment. 

 👉 Question (15) Why did the minister not allow the rich merchant to be executed ? मंत्री ने धनी व्यापारी को फांसी दिए जाने की अनुमति क्यों नहीं दी ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The rich merchant was too thin to be properly executed on the stake. So the minister didn't allow him to be executed. 

 👉 Question (16) Who was finally brought for execution ? Who did he pray to in his heart ? अंततः किसे फांसी के लिए लाया गया ? उसने अपने हृदय में किसकी प्रार्थना की ? 

 ✍️ Answer. Finally the disciple of the guru was brought for execution. He prayed to his guru in his heart. 

 👉 Question (17) The disciple remembered his wise guru's words. What were they ? शिष्य को अपने बुद्धिमान गुरु के शब्द याद आए | वे क्या थे ? 

 ✍️ Answer. His guru's words that the disciple remembered were, ' This is a city of fools. You don't know what they will do next '.

 👉 Question (18) Why, according to the guru, did he want to be executed first ? क्यों, गुरुजी के अनुसार, वे पहले फांसी चढ़ना चाहते थे ? ✍️ Answer. The guru wanted to be executed first because according to him, that stake was the stake of the God of justice, and whoever died on it first would be reborn as the king of that country. 

 👉 Question (19) Who were finally killed ? अंत में किसे मारा गया ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The king and the minister were finally killed. 

 👉 Question (20) What was the people's reaction to see the dead bodies of their king and minister ? अपने राजा तथा मंत्री के शव देखने पर लोगों की क्या प्रतिक्रिया थी ? 

 ✍️ Answer. Seeing the dead bodies of their king and minister, the people panicked. All night they mourned and discussed the future of the kingdom. 

 👉 Question (21) What request did the people of the kingdom make to the guru and the disciple ? राज्य के लोगों ने गुरुजी और शिष्य से क्या प्रार्थना की ? 

 ✍️ Answer. The people of the kingdom made a request to the guru and the disciple to be the king and the minister of the kingdom. 

 👉 Question (22) How much time did it take to persuade the guru and the disciple ? Did they finally agree ? गुरुजी तथा शिष्य को मनाने में कितना समय लगा ? क्या वे अंततः सहमत हो गए ? 

 ✍️ Answer. It didn't take many arguments to persuade the disciple. But the guru took a longer time to give his consent, and they both finally agreed.

Note: Answer the following questions in about 60 words :

1. Describe the kingdom of Fools? What did the Guru and his disciple find so foolish about the town?

(मूखों के राज्य का वर्णन करें। गुरु और उसके शिष्य ने नगर में क्या मूर्खतापूर्ण पाया?)

1. Ans. The kingdom of fools was a strange place

where day was considered night and night was treated as day. People worked during the night and slept in the day. Everything had the same price-one duddu. The Guru found it dangerous to live among fools, but the disciple was tempted by the cheap.

2. How did the Guru save the life of his disciple from being executed?

Ans 2 . When the disciple was chosen to be executed, the Guru appeared and made a clever plan.

He told the king that the time had come for him and his disciple to die because the next life would make them kings. The foolish king and his minister wanted to be reborn as kings, so they got themselves executed instead. Thus, the disciple was saved.

3. How did the king find the culprit for the death of the thief at last?

(अतर, राजा ने चोर की मृत्यु के दोषी का पता कैसे लगया?)

Ans. 3 When the thief died under the wall, his brother blamed the owner of the house.

The king foolishly agreed and held the owner guilty. But the owner blamed the mason, and the mason blamed the dancing girl.

Finally, the dancing girl blamed the goldsmith.

Thus, the king declared the goldsmith as the real culprit for the death of the thief.
