✍️ Answer. After killing Gerrard, he will be free to go places and elude the police as Vincent Charles Gerrard.

जैरार्ड घुसपैठिए को आलमारी में कैसे बंद कर देता है ? 

✍️ Answer. As the intruder ready with his gun pointed at Gerrard, turns his head, Gerrard gives him a push into the cupboard. The gun falls down, and he is locked.

✍️ Answer. The intruder inside the cupboard rattles the door and shouts, 'Let me out of here'.

👉 Question (1) Describe in brief Gerrard's appearance and the interior of his cottage. 

संक्षेप में वर्णन कीजिए कि जैरार्ड कैसा लगता है तथा कॉटेज के भीतरी भाग का वर्णन करें | 

✍️ Answer. Gerrard is a man of medium height. He wears horn-rimmed glasses. He is dressed in a lounge suit and a great coat. He has a small cottage. So for as the interior is concerned, there is an entrance back right.

One more door is there to the left. It is a practical door. A small table and a chair manor two are out towards the left. On the right is a divan. On the table there is a telephone. 

👉 Question (2) The intruder makes a nice plan to elude the police, yet how does he fail in it ? 

घुसपैठीया पुलिस को चकमा देने की अच्छी योजना बनाता है, तो भी वह इसमें कैसे असफल हो जाता है ? 

✍️ Answer. The intruder is a murderer. He is wanted by the police. He enters Gerrard's cottage. He has a gun in his hand. His plans is to kill Gerrard and take his identity. But Gerrard very cunningly makes him believe that he himself is a murderer and chased by the police at that moment.

He further says he is ready with his bag packed to run away. He asks the intruder to go with him in the car. As they move, Gerrard pushes the intruder into the cupboard and locks it. He informs the police. The intruder, thus fails in his plan.

👉 Question (3) What plan of catching the intruder does Gerrard make ?

✍️ Answer. Gerrard well understands that the intruder who looks like him wants to take on his identity after killing him, and knowing everything about him. The intruder is a murderer and wanted by the police. 

Gerrard at once makes a cunning plan, and tells the intruder that he too is wanted by the police as he his a murderer too, and he expects the police to arrive tonight. He asks him to run with him in the car. At last he calls the police to get him arrested.

👉 Question (4) Write a brief character sketch of Gerrard in your own words.

✍️ Answer. Gerrard is a man of medium height. He wears glasses. He is the hero of the play. We find the following qualities in his character. Gerrard is a dramatist and lives in a small cottage.

He meets very few people , and rarely goes out. Gerrard owns a cultured voice. He is witty, confident, intelligent and humorous. He is cool and he keeps his wits about him.
