2. The Sound of Music (Part 1)

 ✍️ Answer. The slight little girl was seen on the underground train platform. She was seventeen years old. She was'nervous yet excited' because she was feeling the vibration of the approaching train.

 ✍️ Answer. She was an aspiring musician, yet she was profoundly deaf. This was the challenge she faced. Her challenge was much bigger than most.

 ✍️ Answer. It was first noticed that there was something wrong with the girl when she was eight years. She had problem with hearing. Her mother discovered it.

 👉 Question (4) 'For quite a while.....' says Isabel. What did she manage to conceal for quite a while ? 'काफी समय तक.....' इसाबेल कहती है | काफी समय तक वह क्या छुपाए रखने में समर्थ हुई ? 

 ✍️ Answer. Isabel means to say that Evelyn managed to conceal her growing deafness from friends and teachers for quite a while.

 ✍️ Answer. We come to know about her for the first time when she was on the underground train platform. She was a slight little girl. Though she was seventeen years of age she looked much younger. She was nervous yet she was excited and with great joy. She could feel the vibrations of the approaching train. She was going to the prestigious Royal academy of music London. It was her first day there. 

 👉 Question (2) Who spotted her (Evelyn's) potential ? What did he do to help her ? उसकी (एवलिन की) संभावना का पता किसने लगाया ? उसने उसकी सहायता करने के लिए क्या किया ? 

 ✍️ Answer. Seeing a girl playing a Xylophone, Evelyn got interested in it, and decided to be a percussionist. But most of her teachers discouraged her. It was Ron Forbes, the percussionist, who spotted her potential. To help her he took two large drums to different notes, and advised her to feel them through various parts of her body and not through her ears. Ron kept repeating the exercise and Evelyn began to show progress.

 ✍️ Answer. Evelyn had begun to show progress from the very beginning when Ron Forbes started teaching her. She began to work hard with firm determination. When she was sixteen, she toured the UK with a youth orchestra. She them began to give solo performances. Even during her three-year course, she had captured most of the top awards. Then she got right to the top. She mastered some thousand instruments. In 1991 she was presented soloist of the year award. She has given inspiration to handicapped. 

 👉 Question (4) How does Evelyn hear music ? एवलिन संगीत कैसे सुनती है ? 

 ✍️ Answer. Music pours in through every part of Evelyn's body. It tingles in the skin, her cheekbones and even in her hair. When she plays the Xylophone, she can sense the sound passing up the stick into her fingertips. Even when she leans against the drum, she can feel the resonances flowing into her body. On a wooden platform bare foot she can feel vibration in her feet and legs even.
