✍️ Answer. The narrator tells his tell. He is a homeopath by profession.

👉Question (2) When did the doctor reach home ? What first thing did he hear there ?

डॉक्टर घर कब पहुँचा ? उसने वहाँ पहली चीज क्या सुनी ?

✍️ Answer. The doctor reached his home at about ten O' clock at night after having his meal at the restaurant. The first thing that he heard there was a noise from above.

👉 Question (3) Was the house electrified ? If not, what did the doctor do to light it ?

क्या मकान में बिजली थी ? यदि नहीं, तो चिकित्सक ने इसमें प्रकाश करने के लिए क्या किया ?

✍️ Answer. No, the house was not electrified. The doctor used to light kerosene lamp for light.

✍️ Answer. The doctor had just set up medical practice. His earnings, for this reason, were meagre.

✍️ Answer. He took off his black coat, white shirt and his vest which was not that much white. He then hung them up and opened the two windows in the room.

जिस किराये के कमरे में चिकित्सक रहता था, उसका वर्णन कीजिए |

✍️Answer. The rented room which the doctor lived in had two windows in it. It was an outer room with one wall facing the open yard. It had a tilted roof. It was infested with rats.

डॉक्टर बरामदे में क्यों गया ? वह हताश क्यों हुआ ?

✍️ Answer. As the doctor could not sleep, he got up and went out to the veranda for a little air.

✍️ Answer. He wanted to marry a fat woman doctor with good medical practice and plenty of money.

✍️ Answer. After slithering along his shoulder, the snake coiled around his left arm above the elbow.

👉 Question (11) The snake coiled round his left arm. There was some pain in the arm. What did the doctor compare the snake with ?

साँप ने उसकी बायीं बाँह के चारो ओर ओरकुंडली मार ली | उसकी बाँह में कुछ दर्द था | डॉक्टर ने साँप की किससे तुलना की ?

✍️Answer. The snake coiled around his left arm.He felt some pain. The doctor compared the snake to a thick leaden rod, rather a rod of molter fire.

✍️ Answer. According to the author, the snake would have been admiring its beauty or wanting to grow a moustache or using eye shadow and mascara or wearing a vermilion spot on its forehead.

👉 Question (13) When someone asked the doctor about his wife, how did he describe her ?

जब किसी ने डॉक्टर से उसकी पत्नी के विषय में पूछा तो उसने उसका वर्णन कैसे किया ?

✍️ Answer. In reply the doctor said that his wife was not fat. She was a thin reedy person with a gift of a sprinter.

अपने मित्र के मकान पर पहुँचते ही डॉक्टर ने क्या किया ?

✍️ Answer. Just after reaching his friend's house, he smeared oil all over himself and took a bath. Than he changed into fresh clothes.

दूसरे दिन जब डॉक्टर अन्य लोगों के साथ अपने मकान पर पहुँचा, तो उसने क्या पाया ?

✍️Answer. When the next morning he reached his house with others, he found that some thief had taken away most of his things.

👉 Question (1) There was a large mirror on the table. What things did it make the doctor think and do ?

मेज पर बड़ा दर्पण था | इसने डॉक्टर से क्या-क्या सुनवाया तथा कराया ?

✍️ Answer. There was a large mirror on the table. Seeing it he thought that the mirror tempted one to look into it. Taking a comb and looking into the mirror, he tiched his hair.

Then he took a close look at his face in the mirror and made a decision of shaving daily and growing a thin moustache so that he might look more handsome.

👉 Question (2) The snake fell down with a dull thud. What did it do to the doctor before moving towards the mirror ?

साँप 'धप्प' की आवाज के साथ नीचे गिरा | दर्पण की ओर जानें से पूर्व इसने डॉक्टर के साथ क्या किया ?

✍️Answer. Lost in various thoughts, the doctor sat into the chair. Just then came a dull thud as if a rubber tube had fallen to the ground. As he moved to look behind, a fat snake wriggled over the back of the chair and landed on his shoulder.

Its spread out head was hardly three or four inches from his face. But fortunately, the snake turned its head and headed towards the mirror.

👉 Question (3) How did the doctor feel when he was in the snake's grip ? How did he react ?

जब डॉक्टर साँप की पकड़ में था तो उसने कैसा महसूस किया ? उसने क्या प्रतिक्रिया दी ?

✍️ Answer. When the doctor was in the snake's grip, he became motionless. He neither jumped, nor trembled and nor cried. Seeing the snake's head hardly three or four inches from his face, he sat there holding his breath.

He felt the presence of God then. He was feeling pain in his arm. He thought suppose the snake bite him, he had no medicine in the house.

👉 Question (4) Freed from the snake, what did the doctor do ? When did he come back home ? What did he find there ?

साँप से मुक्त होकर, डॉक्टर ने क्या किया ? वह घर वापस कब आया ? वहाँ उसने क्या पाया ?

✍️ Answer. Quietly coming out of the room and into the veranda, he leapt into the yard and ran to his friend's house. There he smeared oil over himself and took bath and fresh.

The next morning, he with his friend and one or two others reached his room. There he found that some thief had taken away most of his things. The thief left only his dirty vest there
