👉 Question (1) Where was the child in the story going to ? Who accompanied him ?

कहानी का बालक कहाँ जा रहा था ? उसके साथ कौन थे ?

✍️ Answer. The Child in the story was going to the fair. He was accompanied by his parents.

👉 Question (2) How were the people going, and how were they clad ? 

लोग कैसे जा रहे थे तथा वे कैसे कपड़े पहने थे ? 

✍️ Answer. Some were walking, some riding on horses while some were being carried in bamboo and bullock carts.

👉 Question (3) Why does the child lag behind his parents ? 

बच्चा अपने माता-पिता से पीछे क्यों छूट जाता है ? 

✍️ Answer. The child sees toys in the shops that lined the way. He is fascinated by them and lags behind his parents.

👉 Question (4) What was the first thing that attracted the child's attention ? Could he have it ?

वह पहली चीज क्या थी जिसने बच्चे का ध्यान आकर्षित किया ? क्या वह इसे पा सका ? 

✍️ Answer. The toys were the first thing that attracted the child's attention. But his father could not let him have them.

👉 Question (5) Describe the group of dragon-flies in brief. 

चिउरो (Dragon-flies) के समूह का वर्णन संक्षेप में कीजिए |

✍️ Answer. A group of dragon-flies were moving about noisily on their bright purple wings. They crossed the flight of a lone black bee or butterfly. 

👉 Question (6) What did the child do in the grove ?

बच्चों ने उपवन (पेड़ों के झुंड) में क्या किया ? 

✍️ Answer. The Child entered the grove, and started gathering the petals of flowers that were falling upon him in his hands, but ran towards his parents as he heard the cooing of doves.

👉 Question (7) Which things did the child want to have in the fair ? Why could he not ask his parents for them ? 

बच्चा मेले में कौन-सी चीजें लेना चाहता था ? वह उनके लिए अपने माता-पिता से क्यों नहीं कह सकता था ? 

✍️ Answer. In the fair the child wanted to have Burfi, a garland of Gulmohur and balloons. He also wanted to hear the snake-charmer's music and ride in roundabout. 

👉 Question (8) What was the condition of the child when he lost his parents ? 

जब बच्चे ने अपने माता-पिता को खो दिया तो उसकी क्या दशा हुई ?

✍️ Answer. When he lost his parents, he became frantic. He began to run looking for them in all directions. He started crying. He began to perspire and his clothes became muddy.

👉 Question (9) Where did he finally go ? What bad things happened to him there ?

अन्त में वह कहाँ गया ? वहाँ उसके साथ क्या बुरी बात हुई ?

✍️ AnswerFinally he want to a shrine, where there was a great crowd of people. They were jostling each other. He struggled to thrust a way between their feet and was about to be trampled underfoot.

बच्चे का जीवन किसने बचाया, और क्यों ?

✍️ Answer. A man heard the child's cry and stooping with great difficulty, he lifted him up his arms, and brought him out of the crowd.

👉 Question (11) At what places did the man take the child, and why ?

आदमी बच्चे को किन स्थानों पर ले गया, क्यों ?

✍️ Answer. The man took the child to the roundabout, the snake-charmer, the balloone-seller, the flower seller and to the counter of the sweet shop. He wanted to somehow soothe the child.

👉 Question (12) What did the man ask him, and what was the child's reply ?

आदमी ने उससे क्या पूछा, और बच्चे का क्या उत्तर था ?

✍️ Answer. The man asked the child how he had got there, and whose baby he was. In reply the child wept more bitterly and cried, "I want my mother, I want my father".

👉 Question (13) After losing his parents what words did the child repeat each time ? 

अपने माता-पिता को खोने के बाद बच्चे ने हर बार क्या बात दोहराई ? 

✍️ Answer. The words that the child repeated each time after he had lost his parents, were, "I want my mother,I want my father".
