✍️ Answer. Kezia was a little girl. She was much afraid of her father. There are some incidents that show it. When her father before leaving for work came to her for a casual kiss, she got frightened and felt relieved only when the sound of his carriage grew fainter and fainter when she much afraid.

When she tore away her father's papers, she was punished. She would aften see a nightmare of a butcher with a knife and a rope. That also made her extremely terrified.

✍️ Answer. When Kezia , one evening, peeped through a gap in the fence of their next door neighbours- the Macdonalds, she saw Mr. Macdonald playing 'tag' with his five children. Little baby, Mao was on his shoulders and two girls hanging on to his coat pockets running round and round the flowers- beds. 

They were laughing. Once she saw the boys turn the hose on Mr. Macdonald and his running after them. She decided there were different sorts of father.

✍️ Answer. Kezia was a little girl. She had her father, mother and grandmother in her family. She was frightened of her father. She remained terrified till her father was at home. One day her grandmother suggested that she should prepare a pin-cushion for her father's coming birthday.

She saw a nightmare of a butcher with a knife. She cried out, 'Grandma ! Grandma !' She opened her eyes. It was her father. He took her in his arms and brought her to the big bedroom where he lay beside her. Now the girl realized her father was no cruel. He lived her. 

ЁЯСЙ Question (4) Give a brief character-sketch of Kezia.

✍️ Answer. Kezia is a little girl. She loves her father as dearly as she does to her mother and grandmother, but she is afraid of him as he is a big man, is strict and always scolds him. She stammers too. But she does so only before her father as she is scared of him.

She wants her father to be as loving as Mr. Macdonald, her neighbour is. In the end, when she sees a nightmare and walks up to find her father who makes her lie with him. She clings to him and now realizes how wrong she was about him and he loves her dearly.
